What is MeluXina?

WHAT IS A SUPERCOMPUTER?

First of all, a supercomputer, like MeluXina, is an advanced computing system designed for high-speed data processing and complex calculations. It’s at the forefront of computational capability, aiding in solving intricate problems across various fields.

Comprising thousands to millions of CPUs and GPUs, these systems use high-speed networks and parallel processing to work on different problem parts simultaneously, significantly reducing solution time. This makes it possible to address tasks too challenging or time-consuming for standard computers.

Supercomputers excel in processing speed, measured in FLOPS (floating-point operations per second) for traditional tasks, and AIOPS for AI and machine learning tasks. They can reach speeds from petaflops to exaflops, performing quadrillions to quintillions of calculations per second, respectively.

MELUXINA

In June 2021, LuxProvide unveiled MeluXina, marking a significant leap in supercomputing. Designed for a broad range of complex, data-driven tasks, MeluXina embodies the future, blending simulation, modeling, data analytics, and artificial intelligence seamlessly.

Hosted on the advanced EVIDEN BullSequana XH2000 platform, it boasts a computing power of 18 PetaFlops per second, complemented by 20 PetaBytes of DDN storage. With its scalable, open architecture and the enhancement of GPU AI accelerators, MeluXina offers unmatched sustained performance, catalyzing innovation and breakthroughs in numerous fields.

MELUXINA ARCHITECTURE

SOFTWARE STACK AND CONTAINERIZED WORKLOAD

MeluXina’s software environment includes hundreds of software tools optimized for HPC, HPDA, and AI workloads, regularly updated for the MeluXina supercomputing platform. It supports containerized applications, including Docker and OCI containers, through an HPC-ready runtime that also allows for encrypted and trusted containers.

We are engineering the MeluXina Cloud to provide gateways to our supercomputing platform, supporting your most intensive computational and data workflows. 

The MeluXina Cloud is meant to host:

  •  interactive environments for building and running AI models
  •  container registries that deliver encapsulated, trusted applications to supercomputing container engines
  •  portals and APIs that will enable you to deploy applications tailored to your needs
  •  object-oriented interfaces to our data pools

A Kubernetes platform running on top of the MeluXina Cloud is in the works. It will link the supercomputing platform to flexible, cloud-native services, and empower scalable AI solutions.
