Inauguration of Luxembourg’s first supercomputer MeluXina!
The high-level digital launch ceremony of MeluXina, Luxembourg’s first supercomputer hosted in a green Data Center of LuxConnect, took place on June 7th at 14:30 in Bissen.
In the presence of HRH the Grand Duke, the official inauguration ceremony was composed of speeches held by the Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, the Minister of the Economy, Franz Fayot, the President of the Board Mario Grotz, the Director of EuroHPC JU Anders Dam Jensen and by the European Commission.
At the end of the inauguration, the Grand Duke Henri pressed a red button to mark the start of the MeluXina supercomputer. After the livestream, the delegation has made a visit of MeluXina’s technical infrastructure.

Run and managed by LuxProvide, MeluXina is one of the most powerful high-performance computers in Europe and is co-financed by the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking. Luxembourg’s supercomputer is available for business and research and will be interconnected to the other existing EuroHPC supercomputers.
